Some Quartz Counters Inside My Old Kitchen
Recently our kitchen remodel took a big discovery. New counters were installed and subway tile is within progress!! YESSSSS! Finally. I’m trying to never jump along squealing an excessive amount because that is certainly embarrassing, but YIPPEEE this stage of remodeling is really exciting in my experience! Finally I purchase to discover things i’ve been imagining around my head.
And Thank heavens, I’m very pleased with all this hitherto.
Phew. I don’t know about you but I definitely think and think and overthink after which stress out a tad which i probably made an incorrect choice until I visualize it completely and think itrrrs great.
Remodeling a kitchen is a big big shot. I don’t wish to screw it up. Right?
Please excuse my cell phone pics however these project updates are simply just way much better to get pics of as i can just sneak about the workmen and snap a quick picture with my phone when they aren’t looking! heh.
So, as you have seen, I couldn’t just stop using a white subway tile backsplash.
Mama required a full kitchen of subway tile.
Oh yes, I did so.
If mama is satisfied, Many people are happy, right? Sometimes you only need to choose the gusto of what you want and decrease elsewhere if you wish to. That’s earn money roll.
Fortunately the kitchen at home isn't really big, but installing tile everywhere in the cabinets from the floor to ceiling, across the door frame and around the window in the sink could make a BIG statement! I adore us a big statement. It feels so fresh and clean, cohesive and solid, I like IT already!
Furthermore, it is like home.
You might remember I had created some subway tile inside my old kitchen too. My old kitchen was remodeled maybe seven rice? And i also STILL love subway tile, i really know I’ll adore it for a very long time and in all likelihood forever.
The rest of the tile is going up Thursday, the grout on Friday plus the sink, faucet and dishwasher are going to be attached Monday! Cabinets still need to be painted, new hardware don and updates inside the adjoining family area are still under way.
The one hiccup so far was my new drawer fronts arrived nonetheless they are not the correct style (I did two banks of three drawers each installed on the right in the dishwasher). They will match all of those other cabinetry so correct shaker style fronts are ordered and are on their way. Besides that, the situation is moving all along!
I’m absolutely fond of my sink. I didn’t i believe picture of computer but I’ll be showing it off more when the faucet is perhaps all in a few weeks. And i also cannot love that long counter right of my sink much more. LOVE!
Jack would have to be barricaded in the family room so he’d be straight of the tile guy. He was not too happy about that, but nonetheless enjoyed watching the whole process through the chair.
As you probably have noticed by this point, my counters are white!
While I adore the style of white marble as well as considered it for the kitchen at home, once I really thought it through I realized marble didn’t sound right with this house. My floors have a great deal of grain so I didn’t want another material with heavy pattern or graining to contend with them. These counters are actually a white Quartz, having a tiny bit of no-color pattern that keeps them from being too stark. Fom a distance merely look white. And that's precisely the feel I wanted! Easy and clean.
I also really wanted a bit more updated beachy anticipate my kitchen and even though marble is perfectly gorgeous, I felt like maybe it absolutely was a touch too traditional classic in vogue when followed by my subway tile. I reckon that I'd been buying a small bit different mix this kitchen. Result in your know, I kind of love mixing things up. So quartz it really is!
While I adored my wood counters at my old house and thought about doing them again here, within this house We have already had wood flooring. The explanation for that is on this kitchen I must say i wanted much more streamlined, fresh and cohesive look in one side of my kitchen on the other. I didn’t would like to chop things up excessive.
However, I am going to use a freestanding island in order that gives me the opportunity to mix some misconception a lttle bit there.
If things get TOO streamlined and straightforward, I'd personally erupt into hives. Just kidding. Kinda.

Next up will be the remaining tile about the wall, the new faucet, and installing my existing dishwasher after which I’m hoping to find the cabinets painted yearly month or so. Oh, and installing the newest sconces. So many details lead but were getting closer to the majority of the effort being completed!
